Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears
Current Draw Limit: This 1200mAh cell is a "budget grade" battery. It is perfect for low-current applications (under 1A). If you try to power a high-torque motor with it, the voltage will "sag" quickly, which might cause your microcontroller (like an Arduino) to reset.
The Weight Metric: In the 18650 world, weight is a quality indicator. While this 29g cell is great for simple LED projects or small sensors, for heavy-duty drones or power tools, we recommend our 44g Grade-A cells.
Charging Safety: Always use a charger with a strict 4.2V cutoff. Never leave lithium batteries charging unattended on a workbench.
Low Voltage Protection: This is an "unprotected" cell. To prevent permanent chemical damage, never let the voltage drop below 3.0V. We highly recommend using a TP4056 module with a protection circuit to manage this battery in your builds.
