Unlike the base 830B model, the DT830D features an integrated continuity buzzer, making it remarkably easier to troubleshoot PCB short circuits and cable breaks without needing to look at the screen. Its rugged yellow casing and compact form factor make it perfect for both field service and indoor lab environments.

Prototyping & Installation Tip When measuring current above 200mA, move the red probe to the 10A jack. Safety Warning: The 10A circuit is usually unfused; to avoid internal damage, do not measure high current for more than 10 seconds at a time and allow at least 15 minutes between such measurements. For beginners, always start your voltage measurements at the highest range (1000V DC or 750V AC) and then turn the dial down for better precision once you know the approximate voltage.
