  • 9V Battery Use: DO NOT attempt to use a 9V battery as an alternative to this SMPS for high-current loads. A 9V battery cannot provide even 1A of current, whereas this SMPS provides 10A. This unit is designed to replace batteries in stationary projects.

  • 18650 Cell: If you need to make a portable version of a project, you would need a 2S (7.4V) 18650 pack followed by a high-current 5V 10A Buck Converter. Standard 18650 cells will drain quickly at 10A; use high-discharge cells.

  • IC & Capacitor Tip: When powering high-speed microcontrollers (like ESP32) alongside high-current motors/LEDs, add a 1000uF 10V Electrolytic Capacitor at the power input of the MCU. This "reservoir" capacitor prevents the MCU from resetting during sudden current draws.
