Product Description
The DRV8833 2-Channel DC Motor Driver is a highly efficient, low-voltage alternative to the classic L298N and L293D drivers. Based on the Texas Instruments DRV8833 IC, this module utilizes high-performance MOSFETs instead of bipolar transistors, resulting in significantly lower voltage drops and higher efficiency. It is the ideal choice for battery-powered robotics (using 1S or 2S Li-Po batteries) where squeezing out every milliampere of efficiency is critical. The module can independently control two brushed DC motors or one 4-wire bipolar stepper motor with full bidirectional and PWM speed control.
Key Features
Low Voltage Drop: Features ultra-low RDS(on) MOSFETs, ensuring that almost all your battery voltage reaches the motors rather than being lost as heat.
Low-Power Sleep Mode: Includes a dedicated "ULT" (Sleep) pin that reduces current consumption to micro-amps, perfect for long-term battery operation.
Current Limiting (Isense): Designed with sense-resistor pads that allow for integrated current limiting to protect motors from burning out during a stall.
Multi-Platform Compatible: The low logic threshold (1.8V) makes it directly compatible with 3.3V systems like Raspberry Pi and ESP32 without needing a level shifter.
Compact SMD Design: Tiny footprint makes it easy to integrate into micro-sumo bots, drones, and handheld electronic gadgets.
