Unlike standard LM2596 modules limited to 35-40V, the "HVS" (High Voltage Series) version utilizes a high-performance voltage regulator IC to safely step down power from high-voltage sources like 48V battery banks, industrial power supplies, or large solar arrays. At Robogears, we recommend this module for its high-frequency 150 kHz switching, which allows for smaller filter components and exceptionally low output ripple. With its multi-turn potentiometer, you can precisely tune the output voltage to power anything from 5V microcontrollers to 24V industrial relays from a high-voltage input.
