  • Arduino Powering: When plugging a 9V battery into an Arduino’s DC jack, the onboard voltage regulator (AMS1117) will step it down to a stable 5V. Note that the regulator will dissipate the extra 4V as heat; if your project draws a lot of current (e.g., many LEDs or servos), the regulator may get hot.
