  • Arduino Powering: When plugging a 9V battery into an Arduino’s DC jack, the onboard voltage regulator (AMS1117) will step it down to a stable 5V. Note that the regulator will dissipate the extra 4V as heat; if your project draws a lot of current (e.g., many LEDs or servos), the regulator may get hot.

  • Battery Choice: For high-drain projects involving motors, we recommend using a 9V Lithium or high-quality Alkaline battery. Standard zinc-carbon batteries often "sag" under load, which can cause your microcontroller to reset unexpectedly.
