Product Description The 8mm Green Straw Hat LED is a high-efficiency light source designed for wide-area illumination. Unlike standard round LEDs that focus light into a narrow beam, the "Straw Hat" profile features a shorter, flatter lens that disperses light at a broad 120-degree angle. These LEDs produce a vibrant, saturated emerald green color through a crystal-clear lens, making them perfect for decorative lighting, status indicators on large control panels, and custom hobbyist projects where a wide "flood" of green light is required without any dark spots.

  • Uniform Panel Lighting: If you are building a control panel with backlit icons, these Straw Hat LEDs are far superior to standard 5mm LEDs because they fill the icon area with light more evenly.

  • Current Management: Always use a current-limiting resistor. For a 5V source, a 100Ω to 220Ω resistor will maintain the current at a safe level and protect the internal chip.

  • Status Indicators: These are perfect for "Power ON" or "System Ready" indicators on large robot chassis where visibility from side angles is important.

  • Daisy Chaining: If you need more coverage, you can easily pair these with the 8mm White Straw Hat LEDs to create high-visibility multi-color status arrays.
