Prototyping & Engineering Tips (Robogears Exclusive)

The "First Turn" Rule: New MT3608 modules often come with the potentiometer set to the highest resistance. If you don't see the voltage changing initially, you may need to turn the potentiometer Counter-Clockwise (CCW) for 10-20 full turns before the output starts to increase.
Input-Output Logic: Remember that this is a Boost Converter only. The output voltage must always be set higher than the input voltage for the circuit to function correctly.
Current Limitations: While rated for a peak of 2A, we recommend a continuous load of 1A to 1.5A at your Pimpri workshop to prevent excessive heat buildup, especially when stepping up from very low voltages (e.g., 3.7V to 12V).
Thermal Management: If your application requires drawing near 2A continuously, consider adding a small heatsink or ensuring adequate airflow around the module to prevent thermal throttling.
