Prototyping & Installation Tip (Frequency Measurement)
To measure the frequency of a power line, simply set the dial to the 2kHz position and use the test leads in the V and COM terminals. This is particularly useful for verifying that a backup generator is correctly tuned to 50Hz. When using the clamp for current, ensure the trigger is fully released and the jaws are closed tightly around the wire; any gap in the jaws will result in an incorrectly low current reading due to flux leakage.
