Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears
Propeller Direction: If the air is blowing toward the front of the plane, it won't move forward! Simply reverse the wires on the motor to change the rotation so the air pushes backward, creating forward thrust.
The "Weight" Factor: For the plane to move forward on its wheels, ensure the surface is smooth (like a tiled floor). If the battery is too heavy, the friction might stop it from moving; try placing the battery right above the main landing gear for the best balance.
Screw Tightness: Use the included "key" (wrench) to tighten the nuts properly. If the frame is wobbly, the motor vibration will waste energy and make the plane noisy.
Aero Customization: You can add cardboard wings to the plastic frame to see how a larger surface area affects the "drag" and speed of your model.
