Product Description

The TDA2822M Audio IC is a versatile "workhorse" for small-scale sound amplification. It features two independent high-gain amplifiers inside a single chip. In Stereo Mode, it drives two separate speakers (Left and Right), making it ideal for headphone amplifiers or portable mini-speakers. In Bridge Mode (BTL), the two internal amplifiers work together to drive a single speaker with significantly higher power output. Its ability to function at voltages as low as $1.8V$ means it can run effectively on two AA batteries or a single Lithium-ion cell, providing a punchy audio response without the need for complex heat-sinking.

The DC Blocking Capacitors: Always use electrolytic capacitors (typically $220\mu F$ to $470\mu F$) on the output pins (Pins 1 and 3) before the speakers. These block DC voltage from reaching your speakers, preventing "popping" sounds and protecting the speaker voice coils from burning out.
