Product Description

The Voltage Detection Sensor operates on the basic principle of a resistive voltage divider. It consists of a 30KΩ and a 7.5KΩ resistor in series. When a voltage is applied to the input terminals, the output pin provides a reduced voltage that is exactly one-fifth ($1/5$) of the input. This allows a 5V Arduino Analog pin to safely "see" and calculate a 25V input. The module is compact, requires no external power to function, and features high-quality screw terminals for secure wire connections.

  • The 3.3V Constraint: If you are using this with a 3.3V microcontroller (like ESP32 or Raspberry Pi Pico), remember that the maximum measurable voltage drops to 16.5V ($3.3V \times 5$) to prevent damaging the GPIO.

  • Common Ground: Always ensure the "minus" terminal of the sensor output is connected to the Arduino GND. Without a common ground reference, the analog readings will float and provide incorrect data.

  • Accuracy Improvement: For critical battery monitoring, measure your Arduino's actual 5V rail with a multimeter. Often, USB power is 4.8V or 5.1V. Adjusting your code's reference voltage constant will significantly improve the sensor's accuracy.
