SONY RM-GA0025 Bravia LED/LCD TV Replacement Remote

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

• The "Camera Test": If your remote isn't working and you aren't sure if it's the TV or the remote, open your smartphone's camera app and point the remote at the lens while pressing a button. If the remote is healthy, you will see a flickering purple/blue light on your phone screen (which is invisible to the human eye).

• Battery Maintenance: Always use high-quality Alkaline batteries. Leaky carbon-zinc batteries are the #1 cause of remote failure as the acid corrodes the internal spring contacts and the PCB traces.

• Button Reset: If a specific button (like "Power") stops working, it's often due to dust or oil buildup under the silicone pad. Carefully opening the shell and cleaning the black carbon pads and the PCB with Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) can often restore it to brand-new condition.

• Line of Sight: Ensure the IR receiver window on your Sony TV (usually near the bottom-centre logo) isn't blocked by a soundbar or decorations, as IR signals cannot pass through solid objects.
