IR Interference: If the remote feels unresponsive, check for obstructions between the remote and the STB sensor. Sometimes, bright sunlight or fluorescent lighting can interfere with IR signals.
Battery Maintenance: Always use high-quality alkaline AAA batteries. Leaky zinc-carbon batteries are the number one cause of internal PCB corrosion in remotes.
Testing Tip: If you aren't sure if the remote is working, look at the IR LED (at the front) through your smartphone camera. You will see a purple/white flickering light when a button is pressed, which is invisible to the human eye.
