Product Description

The Tata Sky Universal Remote is the gold standard for DTH control. It features an ergonomic, slim-profile design that feels natural in the hand. The remote includes dedicated shortcut buttons for Active services, Showcase, and Organizer, along with a high-response navigation wheel. The standout feature is the "TV" section at the top, which can be programmed to mirror your television's original remote. Whether you are using an old CRT or a modern Smart LED TV, this remote provides a unified interface for your entire viewing setup.

Key Features

Universal Learning: Easily pairs with almost any TV brand (Sony, Samsung, LG, MI, etc.) to control Power and Volume.
Pre-Programmed: Works out of the box for all Tata Sky set-top boxes—no codes required for the STB.
Dedicated Navigation: Tactile buttons for Volume, Channel, Mute, and "Back-to-Live" TV.
Long Range Sensing: Powerful IR emitter ensures you don't have to point the remote directly at the box.
Premium Build: Textured back for better grip and high-quality internal PCB for long-term durability.

Technical Details

Battery Compartment: Secure slide-lock mechanism.
Key Indicators: Features a dual-color LED (Red/Green) to assist during the TV pairing process.
Service Keys: Includes 'Plan', 'Help', and 'Home' keys for quick navigation of the Tata Sky UI.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

The "2-Second" Pairing Rule: To pair with your TV: 1. Hold 'Select' and the 'Number 2' key simultaneously until the LED blinks twice. 2. Point the remotes at each other. 3. Press the key you want to learn (e.g., Power). 4. Press the corresponding key on your TV remote. The LED will blink to confirm the command was captured.
Battery Health: Since this remote is used daily, avoid mixing old and new batteries. If the remote feels "sluggish" or the range decreases, it's a sign that the voltage has dropped below $2.4V$—replace both batteries immediately.
Diagnostic Tip: If the remote is behaving erratically, perform a "Hard Reset" by removing the batteries and holding any button for 30 seconds to drain the internal capacitors before inserting fresh cells.

Package Includes

Disclaimer

This is a high-quality compatible remote and not an original Tata Sky/Play branded product. The learning function works with 95% of IR-based televisions but may not support Bluetooth-only or RF-based TV remotes.
