The "Selectable Input" Warning: Before connecting to power, verify the position of the 110V/220V slide switch located on the side of the unit. Connecting a unit set to 110V into a 220V Indian mains outlet will cause immediate and permanent damage to the primary circuit.
Grounding for Safety: Always connect the "FG" (Frame Ground) terminal to a proper Earth connection. This discharges any static buildup on the metal casing and is critical for protecting the user from electric shock in the event of an internal fault.
Current Headroom: For maximum longevity, follow the "80% Load Rule." If your project requires exactly 5A, we recommend upgrading to a 10A power supply. Keeping the continuous draw at 4A or less reduces thermal stress and prevents the unit from running at its thermal limit.
Motor Kickback Protection: If using this SMPS to power inductive loads like DC motors, place a large electrolytic capacitor (1000uF+) and a flyback diode across the DC output. High-torque motors can send voltage spikes back into the SMPS during sudden stops, which may trigger the power supply's protection mode.
