Shaft Alignment: Before pushing the knob onto the shaft, turn the potentiometer fully counter-clockwise to its "zero" position. Align the knob's pointer line with your panel's "Zero" or "Min" mark before firmly pressing it down.
Tight Fit Fix: If the knob is too tight to push on, do not use a hammer. Use a small flat-head screwdriver to slightly widen the gap in the potentiometer's split shaft. If the knob is too loose, gently squeeze the two halves of the split shaft together.
