Product Description & Technical Details
Product Description
The 5V Active Buzzer, commonly known in local markets as the "Goli" Buzzer due to its small, round shape, is a simple yet loud audio signaling device. Being an Active Buzzer, it features a built-in internal oscillation circuit. This means it is "plug-and-play"—simply apply a 5V DC power source, and it will emit a continuous, high-pitched beep. Unlike passive buzzers that require a PWM signal to generate sound, the Goli buzzer is ideal for beginners and industrial applications where a simple "On/Off" audible alert is needed for alarms, keyboards, and timer notifications.
Key Highlights
Easy to Drive: Since it generates its own frequency, you can trigger it using a simple digitalWrite(high) command from an Arduino pin without needing complex tone libraries.
Compact "Goli" Design: Its small 12mm footprint makes it perfect for PCB mounting or fitting into tight enclosures for handheld devices.
Sealed for Protection: The top is usually covered with a removable adhesive "wash-tab" that protects the internal diaphragm from dust and liquids during the soldering process.
Low Power Draw: Consuming less than 30mA, it can be powered directly from most microcontroller pins, though using a transistor is recommended for long-term stability.
Breadboard Compatible: Features standard 7.6mm pin spacing, allowing it to plug directly into breadboards or 2.54mm pitch PCBs.
Technical Specifications
Sound Pressure Level: 85dB (min)
Resonant Frequency: 2300Hz
Operating Temperature: -20°C to +70°C
Pin Length: ~6mm (Long pin is Positive)
Housing Material: Black PBT Plastic
Installation Tip from Robogears
Always observe polarity: the longer lead is the Positive (+), and the shorter lead is the Negative (-). There is also a "+" sign marked on the top of the casing. For the loudest sound, remember to remove the adhesive sticker on top of the buzzer after your project is assembled. If you find the beep too loud for indoor testing, you can place a small piece of tape back over the hole to dampen the volume.
Note: This is an Active Buzzer. It will only play a single constant tone and cannot play musical notes like a passive piezo buzzer. Product images are for illustration purposes only.
