The 5V-12V Big Buzzer is an "active" buzzer, meaning it has a built-in oscillation circuit. You do not need to provide a complex PWM signal; simply applying a DC voltage within the specified range will trigger a continuous, piercing tone. The module is housed in a rugged SOT plastic package with integrated mounting holes (ears), allowing it to be easily screwed onto a chassis, bike frame, or project box. Its high-efficiency piezoelectric design ensures stable performance with very low current draw, preventing strain on your power supply.

The Transistor Switch: While a microcontroller can provide 5V, the current draw of a large buzzer might be higher than a single GPIO pin's limit. For maximum volume and safety, use an NPN transistor (like the BC547) as a switch to drive the buzzer from your main power rail.
Polarity Matters: Because this is an active DC module, it is polarity sensitive. Connecting the red wire to Ground and the black wire to VCC will not produce sound and may damage the internal oscillator circuit over time.
Mounting for Volume: To achieve the maximum 95dB output, ensure the front hole of the buzzer is not obstructed. For even louder sound, mount the buzzer inside a hollow plastic enclosure which can act as a resonant chamber.
Automotive Use: If using this as a reverse horn on a bike or car, wire it in parallel with your reverse light circuit. The rugged ABS shell is splash-resistant, but for outdoor use, ensure the wire entry points are sealed with a dab of hot glue or silicone.
