The A2212 6T 2200KV Brushless Motor is a high-speed, high-performance Outrunner BLDC motor designed for radio-controlled aircraft and multirotor drones. With a high KV rating of 2200, this motor is engineered for speed rather than raw lifting power, making it a favorite for FPV racing drones, high-speed RC fixed-wing planes, and pusher-propeller jets. The "Outrunner" design means the outer bell of the motor rotates around the internal coils, providing excellent torque-to-weight ratios. Propeller Selection: CRITICAL: Because this is a 2200KV motor, do NOT use large propellers (like 10x4.5). Using a propeller larger than 6 inches will cause the motor to draw excessive current, leading to overheating and burnt windings. For a 3S LiPo setup, a 6x4 APC style propeller is the industry standard for a balance of speed and thrust.
Motor Direction: To change the direction of the motor's rotation, simply swap any two of the three bullet connector wires going to the ESC. There is no "positive" or "negative" in a 3-phase BLDC system.
Vibration Management: Use a Propeller Balancer to ensure your props are perfectly even. Even a slight imbalance at 20,000+ RPM will cause "Jello" in your FPV video feed and can eventually loosen the screws on your drone frame.
Mounting Screws: When mounting the motor to your frame, ensure the screws are not too long. If a screw reaches into the motor body and touches the copper windings (stator), it will cause a short circuit and instantly destroy the motor and ESC when powered.
Cooling: Brushless motors are cooled by the air moved by the propeller. Avoid running the motor at full throttle for extended periods if the drone is stationary on a test bench, as the lack of forward airspeed can lead to thermal buildup.
