FAQ
1. What does this robot do?
The robot automatically detects and follows a predefined line or track using IR line-tracking sensors and Arduino-based motor-control logic.
2. Is the Arduino included?
Yes.
The current package includes 1 × Arduino-compatible controller board.
3. Is the Arduino pre-programmed?
Yes.
The Arduino-compatible controller supplied with the RoboGears kit is pre-programmed / ready programmed, so coding is not required for initial operation.
4. How many IR sensors are included?
The kit includes:
2 × IR Line Tracking Sensors
5. Which motors are included?
The kit includes:
2 × BO/DC Geared Motors
6. Is the motor driver included?
Yes.
The current package includes 1 × Motor Driver Module.
7. Is assembly required?
Yes.
This is a DIY Ready-to-Assemble Robot Kit. Mechanical assembly, wiring, sensor positioning and calibration are required.
8. Do I need coding knowledge?
No coding is required for initial operation because the supplied Arduino is pre-programmed.
Learning Arduino programming is useful if you want to modify the robot's behaviour later.
9. Can I change the Arduino program?
Yes.
The controller is Arduino IDE compatible and RoboGears provides project code as a resource.
10. What type of track should I use?
For initial testing, use a:
Sensor sensitivity may need adjustment according to the track and lighting conditions.
11. Are batteries included?
The current RoboGears package list does not explicitly list batteries, so batteries should not be considered included unless confirmed separately with the supplied kit.
12. Can this robot be used for competitions?
The product is suitable for robotics learning and school/college competition projects.
For competitive use, additional tuning of sensor position, motor speed and Arduino control logic may be required.
13. Can I add more sensors?
The Arduino platform allows the project to be expanded or modified, subject to available I/O, power requirements and programming.
Additional sensors are not part of the standard package unless specifically stated.
14. Why does the robot sometimes leave the line?
Common reasons include:
15. Is this a fully assembled robot?
No.
This is an educational DIY ready-to-assemble kit designed to provide hands-on experience with robotics, electronics, sensors and motor control.
Important Note
This product is intended for educational, DIY, STEM and prototyping applications.
Assembly, wiring, sensor calibration and testing are required. The Arduino-compatible controller supplied with the RoboGears kit is pre-programmed / ready programmed, so coding is not required for initial operation.
Actual line-following performance depends on track contrast, surface condition, ambient lighting, sensor calibration, motor balance and mechanical alignment.
Component colour, PCB revision or chassis appearance may vary between batches while maintaining the intended functionality.
