Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears
9V Battery Use: Do not connect the load cell directly to a 9V battery. The sensor requires a stable 5V excitation from an HX711 module connected to your Arduino. If your project is battery-powered, use the Arduino's 5V regulated output.
18650 Cell: For portable scales, use an 18650 cell (3.7V). The HX711 and this sensor will operate down to 2.6V, making them perfect for direct-lithium power without a boost converter.
IC & Capacitor Tip: To use a single 50kg sensor, you must create a "dummy" half-bridge using two 1k Ohm precision resistors connected to the HX711 A- input. For a 4-sensor setup, wire them in a loop (White to White, Black to Black) to form a full Wheatstone bridge.
Related Products: We recommend pairing this with the HX711 24-Bit ADC Module, 1k Ohm Precision Resistors, and a Load Cell Combiner Board for clean wiring.

Ensure the central part of the sensor is free to bend; mounting it flat against a surface will prevent it from measuring weight. Handle the delicate wires with care to avoid snapping them at the solder joints.
