Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

The "Clear" Secret: Many beginners think their chassis is made of wood because of the brown color. Remember to peel off the protective paper film from both sides of the acrylic before you start building!
Wiring Polarity: If your robot spins in circles when it should go forward, you need to reverse the wires on one of the motors. This will synchronize the rotation direction of both wheels.
Fastener Security: Use the provided nuts and bolts to secure the motor brackets tightly. If the motors are loose, the robot will wobble, which can lead to inaccurate sensor readings.
Power Management: For better performance, use rechargeable AA NiMH batteries. They provide higher peak current than standard alkaline batteries, giving your robot more "punch" when starting from a standstill.
