Unlike standard center-shaft motors, the side shaft (off-center) configuration allows for unique mounting possibilities in tight mechanical assemblies. Built with a rugged all-metal gearbox, this motor provides the durability needed for industrial automation, heavy-duty robotics, and motorized machinery. At 60 RPM, it offers a perfect balance of steady rotation and high stall torque.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

Mounting Alignment: Because the shaft is offset (side shaft), ensure your chassis design accounts for the asymmetrical weight distribution. This motor pairs best with specialized "L-brackets" designed for side-shaft gear motors.
Current Spikes: High-torque motors can draw significant current when starting or under load. Always use a motor driver rated for at least 2-3 times the no-load current (such as the BTS7960 or a high-current L298N) to prevent driver overheating.
