• The "20% Headroom" Principle: While this is a 25V capacitor, for optimal life expectancy, avoid using it on rails exceeding 20V. In 12V circuits, this 25V rating is perfect as it provides enough overhead to handle sudden inductive spikes from motors or solenoids.

• Polarity Criticality: CRITICAL: Always verify the orientation before powering your circuit. The negative lead is marked by the white/grey stripe on the body. Connecting this capacitor in reverse will cause the electrolyte to boil, leading to the "popping" of the safety vent and potential damage to nearby components.

• Parallel Performance: For high-frequency noise suppression (above 1MHz), pair this 100uF capacitor with a 0.1uF Ceramic Capacitor in parallel. While the 100uF handles the large energy "gulps," the ceramic handles the tiny, fast spikes that larger electrolytic capacitors cannot catch due to their internal inductance.

• Lead Handling: Do not pull or twist the leads aggressively near the rubber base seal. If the seal is compromised, the electrolyte can leak out, causing the capacitor to lose its value and potentially corroding the copper traces on your PCB.

• Ripple Current Awareness: If you are using this in a high-power switching power supply, monitor the temperature of the capacitor body. If it feels hot to the touch, the ripple current may be exceeding the design limits, and you should consider using multiple capacitors in parallel to share the load.
