Product Description The RF-300CA is a highly stable, low-noise DC motor originally designed as a spindle motor for CD and DVD players. Its defining feature is the extended long shaft, which provides extra clearance for mounting pulleys, gears, or fan blades. This motor is prized by hobbyists for its extremely low power consumption and smooth rotation, making it perfect for solar-powered projects, precision optical experiments, and miniature wind turbines.

  • Solar Compatibility: This is one of the best motors for solar education kits. It can often start spinning with as little as 0.5V to 1.0V, making it a great match for 2V or 3V solar cells.

  • Speed Control: If you need a consistent speed, these motors respond very linearly to voltage changes. A simple LM317 voltage regulator or a low-power PWM controller works perfectly.

  • Shaft Care: The 2.0mm shaft is precision-ground. Avoid using excessive force (hammering) when pressing on gears or pulleys, as this can damage the internal thrust bearings and increase noise.

  • Mounting: Use the M2 threaded holes on the front face for secure mounting. Ensure the screws are not too long, as they might contact the internal windings and short-circuit the motor.
