Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

Higher Stall Current: Because the MG90S has metal gears and a stronger motor, its stall current is higher than the SG90. If your servo "vibrates" or "hunts" for its position, it usually means your power supply isn't providing enough current. Use an external 6V 2A BEC or battery pack.
Linkage Geometry: Ensure your mechanical linkages do not hit a physical stop before the servo reaches its commanded angle. Stalling a metal gear servo generates heat quickly and can damage the internal control board.
End-Point Calibration: Use a servo tester to find the exact 0° and 180° points. Many MG90S units have a slightly wider or narrower pulse range (e.g., 500us to 2500us) than the standard 1000us-2000us.
