The internal contact points are made of high-conductivity metal to ensure minimal voltage drop, while the external housing is crafted from high-impact ABS plastic to resist UV fading and impact. It features a two-wire connection that can be easily integrated into any 12V DC system. Whether you are adding spotlighting to a Royal Enfield, a KTM, or a custom moped, this switch provides a tactile and reliable user interface.

Prototyping and Engineering Tips from Robogears

Relay Recommended: While this switch can handle 5A, we recommend using a 12V Automotive Relay if you are powering high-wattage fog lights (above 50W total). Using a relay ensures the switch only handles a tiny "trigger" current, preventing it from heating up and extending its lifespan significantly.
Wire Routing: When installing on the handlebars, leave a small "service loop" (slack in the wire) near the pivot point of the forks. This prevents the wires from being pulled tight or snapping when you turn the handle to its full lock position.
Secure Grounding: If your accessory isn't turning on, double-check the ground connection. Many DIYers forget that plastic handlebar housings are non-conductive; ensure your "Negative" wire is connected directly to the battery or a clean metal point on the chassis.
Cable Management: Use Nylon Cable Ties to secure the switch wire along the existing factory wiring loom. Avoid using electrical tape alone, as engine heat can cause the adhesive to slip over time.
